FWave IV is an electromagnetic wave equation solver, primarily, but not only, intended for analysisng optical waveguides.
For information on how the program works, and instructions for use please read the manual. There will eventually be a full help system, with ballon help, but this is not yet complete.
Many problems with stability can be overcome by using a better initial estimate for the effective index if using generic guides, and a lower over-relaxation coefficient.
Please report any bugs and suggestions for changes/improvements, including details of machine type and operating system version for bug reports, to me , preferably by e-mail at:

Whilst FWave is provided entirely free of charge, any voluntary contributions will go towards continuing work on the program, which is currently done with no funding, and takes a considerable quantity of my time.
